Betta Splendens: Female vs. Male, with Female Winning.

That was the end of my attempt at breeding those two for a while. Everything was fine, as they were both displaying to one another and he had ahold of her, so I walk out of the room for a couple of minutes.. By the time I came back, she was ripping out his fins and grabbing him by the lip and dragging him to the bottom. He just stopped fighting her, ran for it, and changed to duller colors in hopes she would leave him alone. I took her out as soon as I could get ahold of her. She’s violent!

Wow, I guess females are the toughest in nature!
Thanks for dropping in earlier and giving me that insight to Wren’s behaviour ![]()

I attempted to put her in with the other male we have, J.’s red one, but she kept grabbing ahold of his tail fin and would not let go! She tired to drag him to the bottom, but his tail is so long she couldn’t. I had to take them both out in my hands and hold her out in the air for a minute until she finally let go of his tail with an angry “pop!”
