I Finally Got a Picture!

Do you know how hard it is to get a good, non-blurry picture of a dog that jumps every time she sees a camera? It sucks. The only time that Ami would sit still was when she noticed I was doing something with the camera—ie, deleting photos, changing the settings, that sort of thing—because she would stop and sit or lay down and act cute. As soon as I would go to click another photo though, she was up and jumping or shaking her head, or as in one photo shaking her left foot in the air. Ah, she’s a weird one.

Last night we found her attacking a possum, which she was apparently fine with until I came outside. When she noticed me, she decided to stop carrying it around by the nape of it’s neck and started slamming it into the tree. At first I tried to hold her and J. tried to scoot the possum away from her, but she was just dragging me off. So, I decided to take care of the little possum playing dead and found a rake to push it away with. When I finally got it far enough away that she couldn’t reach it, it opened it’s eyes and looked up at me. It reminded me of the baby possums I took care of years ago. (My grandmother shot their mother and didn’t think she had any babies. I found them and took care of them until I had to let them go.) I just love possums. They are so cute.
